The New Zealand magazine ‘Arrival’ is using HardLink-powered QR Codes to deliver timely valuable offers to its readers. Arrival is the only news-stand quality magazine targeting New Zealand’s 2.4 million-plus annual in-bound leisure and business travellers.
As more travellers pack their smartphones with them on their travels, delivering offers in a Mobi-site format launched by Snapping a QR Code makes perfect sense. By using offer titles such as ‘Transport Rental Car’ and ‘Activity Northland’ Arrival benefits from being able to easily update the offers after going to print – a huge advantage considering the volume of the magazines that are disappearing from the news stands! Consumers end up getting the latest deals and there’s never a problem with an offer being removed as it’s easy to update what consumers receive at any time.
Arrival is also using the location-based reporting that HardLink provides – if one of the QR codes is Snapped by a device that has GPS support the customer is asked if they wish to share their location. Right now this is more for information purposes (to see where those Arrival magazines end up in NZ!) but we expect to see the offers being varied by Snap location really soon.
